Ute Koskie
Ute was born in Germany and immigrated to Australia at the age of 4 with her family. As a child, we are told ‘Ute was never without a pencil and paper in hand’, and at the age of 15, without any formal training, she won her first prize in the ‘Keilor Art Token’. Ute, went on to finish her Private High School Education, then went out into the workforce and married in 1982. She rekindled her love for the arts after moving to the small township of Redesdale in Central Victoria. After a long period of being solely self-taught she decided to enrol into Diploma of Visual Arts at BRIT, resulting with a triple major in painting, printmaking and sculpture, also being the recipient of the National Australia Bank Award. Her art mainly features around her first love being that of the Equine variety however since her time at BRIT, she has become very eclectic. Ute has since had a solo exhibition and a shared exhibition at ‘Dudley House’ in Bendigo. Her works feature in both private and corporate collections within Australia, Europe, the UK and America.
