Sold Kris Peter
Kris is an artist who finds joy in the simplicity and beauty of natural objects, and seeks to share this
through her watercolour paintings. She is inspired by nature and the beauty of the beach and the bush and it’s animals. Subjects for her works vary; from the simple – a gum leaf, a shell, a feather – to her intricate studies of rock pools and the patterns of bark on tree trunks, and the delicate strength of her bird studies.
Kris is a “hands-on” carer for an aviary of Australian birds, as well as a keen birdwatcher, and finds her interactions with birds always a wonderfully rewarding life experience, as well as providing excellent opportunities to observe her feathered subjects at close range! Kris is an active member and councillor of the Wildlife Art Society of Australasia and a member and former councillor of the Australian Guild of Realist Artists (AGRA). She is a supporter of Birds Australia, International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) and Bush Heritage. A percentage of the proceeds from the sale of the artworks is donated to IFAW. 2010 Best Work on Paper at Roberts McCubbin 15th Annual Art Show Feature artist at Roberts McCubbin Highly Commended at MFIGS by Wildlife Art Society of Australasia Shared exhibitions at AGRA“Live, Love, Life” &“Six Degrees of Light” AGRA 1 Highly Commended and 3 x Commended Part of Artist in Residence program Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne invited to exhibit in Australian Art Excellence Awards 2009 3 commendations at AGRA Highly Commended at Roberts McCubbin Certificate of Recognition received from AGRA Part of Artist in Residence program Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne Shared exhibition “Vivid: Images of Africa & Australia” 2008 twice runner-up at AGRA exhibitions Shared exhibition at Torquay with Steve Feely, “Surf Coast Fresh” invited to exhibit in Australian Art Excellence Awards
