“I was born in Kent, England in 1958 and have always had a great interest in nature and art. In my early teens I became a member of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds. My interest in art grew as I progressed through my school years, and was finally awarded GCE 'A' Level in Art in 1975. Whilst living in London, I married and raised four children, which left little time for art. Although I continued to absorb as much information about techniques and other Artists work as time would allow. In1991 we all moved to Australia. There is so much natural beauty and I was immediately struck by the vivid colours of Australian animals and plant life. The children progressively started school, and I at last found the time for painting again! Our home is situated in a peaceful bush land environment from which I draw upon much of my inspiration. Having a close eye for detail, I strive for an intimate understanding of my subject always aspiring to capture the intricacies of nature, building upon a foundation of good composition, aspects of light and shade and tonal ranges. I use a variety of media. In 2000 I illustrated for authors and horticultural botanists, Bill Molyneux and Sue Forrester, their delightful story, Emma's Journey. It is a spiritual journey encompassing the beauty of nature within the seasons of the High Wild Country. I am currently a member of the Wildlife Art Society of Australasia Inc., the Bird Observers Club of Australia and member of The Peninsula Art Society.” Jane Dingwall
