Han Van Vlodrop
Hans Van Vlodrop was born in Europe in 1946. His family immigrated to Australia in the early 1950's when he was six.
Hans grew up in the country at Shepparton and excelled at school receiving a scholarship to study art in Melbourne and completed a diploma of advertising, fine arts/painting, photography and part of a B.A. course simultaneously. By the age of 24 he had held two successful solo painting exhibitions at Munster Gallery in Melbourne. By the age of 28 he had established his own advertising business as principal creative director, print broker, designer, illustrator and account service person. By the age of 30 Hans had held many
successful solo exhibitions and had his work shown in Melbourne, Canberra and South Australia. Later Hans took up sculpting in relief, 3D architecture murals, freeform and silversmithing. Up to this point Han has held a total of 17 successful solo exhibitions, however at this stage of his life Hans has left advertising. Hans contemporaries, friends and acquaintances are all the names of Australian Art that bring to mind individual, innovative, creative, but well know work. His paintings comfortably sit well with that group. Hans has intelligence higher than most that demands creative outlets. He will turn his hand and mind to anything that takes his fancy and he has an eclectic attitude and ability. Hans is a passionate painter with a creative personality. His work is bold and fluid but at all times shows a control of colour and stokes to achieve his vision of a subject. He loves and lives to paint! Hans has won far to many awards to list -some exhibition highlights: 1971 Exhibited in "The Alice Prize" - A National Contemporary Art Award. 1973 Exhibited at "The 1973 Melbourne Art Show" Exhibition Building Carlton. 2006 - Winner Rosebud Rotary Art Show. 2009 - Feb - Best Seascape - Mornington Art Show.
