Sold Brett JarrettBrett Jarrett was born in Portland, southwest Victoria. Brett's expert knowledge on bird and mammal identification and behaviour has made him the most experienced and travelled of Australia's modern day natural history painters, having dedicated most of his life to the study and observation of wildlife. His authentic and true-to-life bird and animal paintings are real life experiences observed and created from over thirty years of intense field observation all over the world. Brett's work is invariably connected with Australian, Southern Ocean and polar wildlife through many years as polar expedition artist, field biologist, guide and lecturer to remote regions of the world. However his wealth of animal knowledge crosses with ease to domesticated animals and has attributed to him being one of Australia's leading equine portrait artists, commissioned by clients who desire accuracy and authentic realism in their work. He has co-authored and illustrated several books dedicated to field identification and anatomical accuracy including: Handbook of Australian, New Zealand and Antarctic Birds, volumes 2 and 3. A Complete Guide to Antarctic Wildlife. Whales, Dolphins and Seals: A Field Guide to the Marine Mammals of the World. Marine Mammals of the World: A Comprehensive Guide To Their Identification.
